Video: WHY?

We had been looking forward to this session for some time. Yoni had spotted a piano downstairs in Eighth Day Cafe and decided to perform this version of ‘Half a Person’ by Manchester’s own, The Smiths. Anyone who was at WHY?’s sellout show at The Deaf Institute later that night will agree it was an incredible gig. Nice one Yoni Lad.

Video: Red Tides

Manchester’s Red Tides decided to take a dip in the sea for their session. Filmed at the Blue Planet Aquarium after hours, the weird and wonderful aquarium night watchman took us into the ‘Aqua Tunnel’, where Wilma the shark vibed off drummer Phil’s powerful beats.

After wondering around the Ritz like a pair of Modest Mouse groupies we finally found Scott from Frightened Rabbit sitting on the balcony playing his guitar. He was kind enough to follow us down to the canal to perform this beautiful version of ‘Swim Until You Can’t See Land’.

Being massive fans of Subpop’s Fruit Bats, we were well excited about filming this session, and it didn’t disappoint! Being a classy guy, Eric opted to play ‘Singing Joy To The World’ in the black tiled gents toilet at The Roadhouse. Thanks again Eric, was awesome!

Video: Ohbijou

After watching an incredible performance by Ohbijou at Nexus Art Cafe, we were getting worried that the band were going to be all folked out and not in the mood to do it all again for us, however, we were delighted to see them emerge from their dressing room armed with an array of instruments from mandolins to trumpets. This has been a favourite of ours for a long time, come back soon.
