Like their name would suggest, Blind Atlas are something of a contradiction. Described in the past as sounding like everyone from Doves to Led Zep to The Black Keys, their listeners can’t help but stick a label on them.

But Blind Atlas is a band that refuses to be easily pigeonholed, so maybe the time for comparisons is over.

Blind Atlas have become familiar faces on the Manchester circuit, notching up headline slots at some of the most iconic venues in the city, as well as supporting the likes of Liam Frost, Lucy Wainwright Roche and Detroit’s Deadstring Brothers. One point fans of the band will attest to is their ability to expertly combine the traditional melancholy of the classic Northern sound with the boozy soul of American alternative country, think Ryan Adams fronting The Black Keys, or perhaps Fleet Foxes with a Led Zeppelin fixation and clearly all designed to soundtrack long, whisky-addled nights of anguished soul-searching.
