Paddy Steer

Stepping into Paddy Steer’s studio space is like stepping into his mind. We didn’t know what to expect from Paddy’s session but we were delighted to find a smoke machine and lasers. Paddy was kind enough to tailor this composition especially for us. It was a great way to start the day with this 10am shoot.

Ever wondered what the workings of a magical musical mind actually sound like in the raw, undisturbed by the mundanity of conventional song structure and want of chart positions?

If you have, then Paddy Steer is the man for you. He’s made a career out of living in the leftfield of music, offering up his considerable talents on everything from jazz drumming to Hawaiian guitar to the likes of Homelife and Toolshed, and happily bringing a smile to the faces of anyone who came across his work.

With occasional help from long-time musical sparring partner Graham Massey and a handful of others, Paddy has produced an album of splendid nonsense, expansive weirdness and downright brilliant adventure. Make no mistake, you won’t hear another thing like it all year.
