Born out of the desire to be awkward and annoying, The 255s started to play shows in March 2008, in 2009, they started working on the first album “broadcasting”, it was finally completed in June 2009, and released around June 2010, after being posted on approximately 5 music forums and downloaded a staggering 24 times.

Taking influence loosely from Superchunk, Piebald, The Weakerthans and Ted Leo. The 255s create a sound that sounds like a lot of bands you heard in the mid-90s, and you can’t quite put your finger on. Once you get past Andys weird voice, of course.

The 255s have played with such great bands as The Failures Union, Chuck Ragan, Above Them, and oddly, Guttermouth.

In 2010 they recorded for a series of splits, 1 with Unwelcome Guests and another 4-way split with some UK bands.
