This is the return of Other Sounds gig promoting antics. On this Friday night in February they present four brilliant and exciting acts plus a whole host of general Other Sounds tomfoolery and craziness – it’ll be a night to remember, and all for the …bargain entry price of a mere fiver.

TALONS. Officially the most successful band to have members in the Other Sounds society, their critically acclaimed instrumental rock has proved popular throughout the country and abroad.

Shamelessly nicked from their website: “Talons are an instrumental band, who call the backwater town of Hereford their home. Forging explosive energy, delicate subtleties and fractured song structures, Talons possess a fascinating sense of urgency and drive, with a sound that both soothes and savages in equal measure.
Talons are not a post-rock band, nor are they a math rock band. Talons, are Talons. The six-piece are best experienced in a live environment, where the visceral, raw energy of their music can be fully appreciated.”

KLAUS KINSKI. Otherworldly noise-punk from North Wales but now hanging out in Manchester. Chaos is usually a good word to describe a Klaus Kinski show, miss any opportunity to catch them live at your peril.
From Radio Wales: “They make the most unhinged and primal racket that I have ever heard. It’s mercurial and surreal: the Birthday Party fronted by a psychotic Spike Milligan [in their own words, "cannibal hymns that smell of old sex"]. If you like your music unstable, bust into a thousand unexpected shapes and ultimately thrilling, this band are for you.”

ORGAN FREEMAN. Anyone who attended the last Other Sounds gig will have fond memories of the awesome Organ Freeman – a Wirral institution carving out chunks of retro karaoke pop with floppy discs. If you don’t know them already, you’re missing out on one of the most exciting live experiences known to the north-west…

In their own words: “4 obsessed with nostalgia, pop music, 80′s, 90′s and modern day pop/party culture.

The Organ Freeman do not use modern computer software sounds and probably never will.”

ELK BLOOD. This up and coming local act have had a fast-paced and successful entry to the world of live performing, their debut going down a storm at the last Other Sounds gig and going on to picking up several live slots across Manchester since then.
