It’s the Underachievers 4th birthday! They have chosen The Louche F.C and Pins to help them celebrate.
The Louche F.C
Some bands are of the moment and others tend to have a bit more staying power. The Louche sound like they could’ve been plucked from any time post-Spector, but luckily for us, they only started up last year and instantly started pumping out some of the most memorable shoegaze-tinged pop of the last decade.
There are four of them, working in unison to create lavish works that draw on influences from West Coast garage rock through to some of the more contemplative moments of My Bloody Valentine, even grazing the likes of Warpaint at times. It’s a heady concoction, their melodies lush, the beats languid and the vocals swooning. If they’d pitched up in San Francisco, it’s likely you’d be hearing these through Woodsist or the plethora of other hipster labels the area incubates. Their debut 7″ came out through SWAYS records – a snapshot of fictional moment in time in Manchester
